New York City Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg said “New York has led the nation in the rate of growth for Hispanic-owned businesses, and it's important to our economy to help even more of these businesses succeed.” According to 2002 U.S. Census data, 9.6 percent of the businesses in New York were Latino-owned. There are over 200,000 Latino-owned businesses just within New York City. New York City contains one of the biggest and most varied Latino markets in the nation. It has many United States born Latino entrepreneurs in addition to many first-generation immigrant businesses.

The total revenue generated by Latino-owned businesses in 2002 was $222 billion.
That revenue is expected to grow to more than $539 billion within the next six years.

Even with all this opportunity, many businesses and organizations do not know how to reach Latino businesses. Latino businesses generally buy only from familiar relations and trusted sources.
“There are business portals such as El Club de Comerciantes who help connect entrepreneurs, businesses and organizations to Latino businesses. The organization endorses also other businesses and organizations as trusted providers that are Latino friendly.” - Suzanne Burge Taylor, CEO, Taylormade Media Group. She continues by saying “El Club de Comerciantes is excellent in communicating the advantages of nurturing cultural strategic alliances in today's diverse world.”
Today at the El Club de Comerciantes portal advertisers get promotion not only on their events and web portal but also at blogs, Facebook, YouTube, twitter and with Search Engine Optimization.
